The Bible is the mind of Christ and is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God. It is the sole and absolute authority for all aspects of Christian faith and practice.
(1 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12;
1 Peter 1:20-21)
1. There is one God and He reveals Himself in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 4:35, 6:4; John 17:3; Colossians 1:13-17; 1 Corinthians 12:4; John 17;11; John 5:17-30; John 8:17-19; John 14:19-20; 1 John 5:7)
2. Jesus Christ is simultaneously 100% divine and 100% human. He is the unique and absolute expression of God in human form. If you see Jesus, you have seen the Father.
(John 1:1-5,14; 12:45; 14:9; Colossians 2:9)
3. Jesus was tempted in all manners as the rest of us, yet lived a perfectly sinless life, thus qualifying Him to be the Perfect Sacrifice for our sins. (Matthew 4:1-10; Hebrews 4:15)
4. It is a well-documented historical fact that Jesus was crucified at the hands of the religious and secular authorities of His day.
(Matthew 27; Mark 15; Luke 23; John 19)
5. Three days after His death and burial, the Holy Spirit raised Jesus bodily from the dead. Over the subsequent 40 days, Jesus repeatedly appeared physically to over 500 of His disciples. who spoke with Him, touched Him, and even ate with Him.
(Matthew 28; Mark 16; Luke 24; John 20; 21)
6. At the conclusion of that 40 day period, Jesus was taken up bodily into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the Father until His glorious return to earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
(Acts 2:2-11; Hebrews 1:13)
7. Mankind is utterly depraved, hopelessly sinful, and completely unable to obtain redemption and forgiveness of sins through his own religious works or good deeds. As a result, all of mankind is doomed to the fires of eternal judgment apart from God's grace and faith in Jesus' redemptive work. (Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 6:23;
Galatians 2:16; 3:10-11; 5:4-6)
8. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. It is a free gift and cannot be earned or deserved. (John 14:6;
Acts 4:12; Romans 5:1; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9)
9. People are born from above and receive salvation through publically confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord and Master over their lives and believing in their hearts that Jesus is resurrected from the dead. (John 3:3; Romans 10:9-10)
10. Those who have been born from above are new creatures in Christ, have the Holy spirit dwelling within their physical bodies, have been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God, and will be resurrected from the dead to live eternally with Christ. They not only have had their sins forgiven, but are also redeemed from sickness and poverty. (2 Corinthians 5:17; 6:16;
1 Corinthians 6:19; Colossians 1:27; 1 Corinthians 15:13-23; 2 Corinthians 5:8; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Peter 2:24; 3 John 2)
11. All believers have the privilege of experiencing the present-day supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit Who bestows spiritual gifts upon them, distributing those gifts as He wills. These gifts were given to the Church at the day of Pentecost and will continue in the earth until Jesus' return. As described in numerous accounts throughout the book of Acts, this experience is separate from and subsequent to salvation. According to 1 Corinthians 12:8-11, these gifts are:
* The Word of Wisdom
* The Word of Knowledge
* Special Faith
* Healing's
* Working of Miracles
* Prophecy
* Discerning of spirits
* Various kinds of tongues
* Interpretation of tongues
12. Jesus will appear in the air to take His followers to heaven (the Rapture of the Church) after which there will be a period of intense suffering and distress in the earth (the Great Tribulation) after which Jesus will return with His saints to earth, judge the wicked (the Last Judgment), and rule over the earth for a thousand years (the Millennium). After that, Satan and his followers, both natural and supernatural, will be thrown into the Lake of Fire for eternity.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 7:14; 20:1-15)
13. Satan is a real and perpetual foe of humankind, the accuser of the brethren, and the father of lies. His present control over unregenerate man does exist and his opposition will continue until He is dealt with once and for all by Jesus at the final judgment. However, through Christ's resurrection, Satan is a defeated foe and believers can, using their authority in Christ, resist him and he will flee from us.
(Genesis 3:1-5; Revelation 12:10; John 8:44, James 4:7)
14. It is the responsibility of all Christians to abide in Jesus and mature spiritually, to express the love of Christ towards others, to live righteously before God and man, to be a committed member of the local church of His choice, and to propagate the Gospel of Jesus throughout the earth. (John 15:4-5; 13:34-35; Romans 6:11-13; Hebrews 10:24-25; Matthew 28:18-20).
